We need Sky to cover this protest below as

innocent people in Sri Lanka are being killed. Unfortunately, no journalists are allowed
in these areas to cover the truth of what is really
going on as there is no access to the war zone.

The International Media must put a stop to
the Sri Lankan Govt to stop the aerial bombings
and shellings at the dense population in the North of Sri Lanka.

We appreciate Sky's support
to cover the Protest March.

About the Book

British Tamils Forum is pleased to announce the release of a new book. The Unspeakable Truth. This book traces the poignant history of the Tamils in Sri Lanka after independence. It catalogues the Sri Lankan Tamils' descent from a once thriving vibrant community to one that is today fighting for its very survival. This is a story about how the Sinhala Buddhist majority population consumed with religious chauvinism has corrupted a democratic process with untold consequences.

The title, The Unspeakable Truth reflects the obstacles Tamils have faced airing the subject matter of this book. Inside Sri Lanka, the Government bent on a vision of a mono ethnic state has succeeded in suppressing any dissent through brutal force. Outside Sri Lanka and especially in the West, the all encompassing terrorism laws have frightened Tamils from resolutely voicing the undeniable case they have for justice. By keeping away foreign journalists from the traditional Tamil homelands, successive Sri Lankan governments have been able to exploit this vacuum of information to discredit the efforts by Tamils to redress this inequity. This book aims to set the records straight by dispassionately documenting the experience of the Tamils in Sri Lanka over the past 60 years.

The book is refreshingly narrated from a Tamil perspective. It is organised into three sections covering the physical harm suffered by the Tamils in Sri Lanka, the destruction of their cultural heritage and the attempts at negotiating a settlement which has come to nothing. The book also strikes a hopeful note at the end on how lasting peace can be achieved from the rubble of destruction. The reader is likely to find some images depicting examples of violence difficult and is left to imagine the suffering endured by not only the victims but also their families and communities over the years. "
